I’m Julia, a freelance photographer who has to pinch herself everyday to believe that her dream, of running her own photography business, really did come true!

I live in rural Cheshire and share my home with my husband, two children and various four legged friends.

I love the natural world and you’ll see that shining through my work. For me, there is nothing better than spending a day in the great outdoors, whatever the British weather has on offer.

I’d love to travel the world, but for now, you’ll find me firmly routed and happily enjoying Cheshire life.

What seems a life time ago now, I studied for my B.Ed in Geography in the beautiful city of Oxford, then had a successful career as a primary school teacher. After almost a decade I took a break from the teaching profession to raise my own children and begin my journey in the world of photography. Today I combine the two; teaching and running my photography business.

I fell in love with photography as a teenager when I first experienced developing black and white film in the dark room at school. Since then I have never been without a camera. In the early days I borrowed my parents' most basic point and shoot film camera but these days I am the proud owner of a Nikon DSLR.

Over the years technology may have changed but my eye for detail and my love of learning hasn’t.

I enjoyed studying photography for a number of years at my local college, the Open University and The Photography Institute. Classroom study was so much fun but what has really taught me the greatest lessons in life is hands-on experience!

Every day I try to strive to learn something new to make my work and life more creative and captivating.
